The Supply Chain Manager position is located onsite at a customer’s fill plant in Paulsboro. This role will provide a high level of customer service for key strategic customers. It will be the primary contact for assigned customers and act as a “concierge” between the customer and Altium. This role will be responsible for marshalling resources to solve customer problems and improve the customer experience. This position will oversee a team of supply chain professionals to execute the inbound supply chain for our customer according to a VMI contract. The VMI team provides operational and project support for supply chain activities, with a major focus on material management, quality management, operations support, and inventory control and analysis. This role interacts with staff at all levels to define and carry out supply management tasks, while identifying efficiencies to improve service levels. This position completes operational tasks in accordance with all relevant regulatory requirements, standard operating policies/procedures, and applicable laws. Build strong customer relationships with key customer stakeholders. Focus on activities to maximize service levels and customer satisfaction. Create value for customers by ensuring clearly defined business outcomes. Build a “success plan” with appropriately identified objectives, stakeholders, milestones, risks, and metrics. Manage a team of direct reports at the customer’s fill site. Meet regularly with team members to provide coaching, professional development, and mentorship. Provide leadership, direction, training, and backup coverage for direct reports. Oversee safety, quality, and customer service tasks performed by the VMI team to support customer operations. Be accountable for VMI team performance related to material planning, operations support, inventory control, and quality management. Lead the VMI team and suppliers to investigate critical shortages, operational issues, or quality problems, providing root cause analysis and recommendations of corrective actions and resolutions. Meet regularly with VMI team members to review KPI data and performance. Ensure that correction action plans are developed and executed to address missed KPI targets. Provide KPI results to the customer on a monthly basis. With Sales and other Altium stakeholders, conduct quarterly business reviews with key customer contacts to review Altium’s performance and the future business outlook. Manage discussions with key customers and Altium plants to meet customer expectations on deliveries, safety stock, and quality performance. Lead monthly or quarterly business review meetings with supplier contacts. Hold suppliers accountable for raw material delivery and quality performance. Develop performance improvement action plans for suppliers who are not meeting targets. Contribute to Altium’s success by driving ideas for continuous improvement, and leading projects to improve processes. Communicate initiatives and benefits monthly to key customer contacts. Cross-train with VMI team members to ensure critical task coverage during absences, transitions, and vacations. Participate in all Altium- and customer-assigned safety trainings, communications, and meetings. Ensure that direct reports also complete assigned activities. Adhere to Altium or customer requirements for safety procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE). Ensure that direct reports also comply with safety procedures and PPE. Manage other duties as assigned by Altium leadership.Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related disciplines. A minimum of ten years of supply chain management, with a minimum of five years of material management experience in a manufacturing environment. Three to five years working in a fast-paced environment with responsibility for interacting with customers and resolving issues. Knowledge of continuous improvement tools, such as problem-solving, root cause analysis, LEAN/SixSigma principles. Proficient in using Microsoft programs. High degree of proficiency in Excel, including knowledge of: formulas, filtering, pivot tables, graphing, and macro development. Clear communication skills. Excellent organization and time management skills. Sound judgement and the ability to use critical thinking to make key decisions. 10% TravelPreferred Education and Experience Experience with working in JD Edwards ERP system.
