What role will you play in this transformation journey?We are seeking a Director, Data Privacy and Protection to join our newly formed Data Excellence organization. The ideal candidate will be entrusted with the crucial responsibility of crafting, executing, and upholding comprehensive data policies and procedures. Your expertise will reinforce our commitment to data governance, privacy, and compliance, ensuring that we operate with the highest standards of trust and ethics.What you will do

Create, review and refine data policies, standards and guidelines as well as run the policy lifecycle and framework

Develop and lead data privacy at Colgate. This includes strategy and framework along with required operational processes–data classification, data retention and deletion, subject and deletion requests, etc.

Monitor data governance practices to ensure compliance with Colgate policies and standards as well as regulations like GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, etc.

Develop and lead the data maturity model for Colgate and continue to monitor and report on progress.

Regularly assess and report on the effectiveness and compliance of data policies globally, making recommendations for improvements when necessary

Conduct training sessions and awareness programs to educate employees about data policies and best practices

What you will need (Required)

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, business administration or related field

8-10 years of proven experience in large data transformations focusing on data governance and data privacy

Basic knowledge of laws and regulations for data and AI including privacy regulations like GDPR and CPRA

Experience in writing enterprise-wide policies and standards

Experience with risk assurance and assessment, regulatory bodies and Audit

Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Strong communication and collaboration abilities

What you will need (Preferred)

Master’s degree in information management or Library and Information Science

Proficiency in risk management and audit frameworks

CDMP, CIP, CIPP certifications preferred

Experience with bigID, OneTrust and other privacy management solutions

Compensation and BenefitsSalary Range $146,000.00 - $210,000.00 USDPay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location. In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and/or Stock Options.Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable benefits plans then in effect, all salaried employees are also eligible for a competitive benefits package which includes:

Insurance: Employees (and their eligible dependents) are eligible to participate in Company-sponsored Medical, Dental, Vision, Basic Life Insurance, Accidental Death & Dismemberment and Disability insurance plans.

Retirement Plans: Employees are eligible to enroll in Colgate's 401(k) plan, which provides for company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements

Vacation/PTO: Employees receive a minimum of 15 days of vacation/PTO leave annually

Paid Holidays: Employees receive a minimum of 13 paid/floating holidays annually

Paid Sick Leave: Based on location and consistent with applicable state and local law, employees receive a minimum of 40 hours of paid sick leave on January 1st of each year

Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees may take up to eight weeks of paid parental leave and 12 weeks of unpaid leave (varies for employees with fewer than 12 months of service and is subject to hours worked requirements)
