Are you ready to realize your potential? The Position Provides high level legal support for the legal contract management function. Responsibilites include creation, drafting and first line negotiation of buy-side/supplier contracts. Independently identifies areas of risk and suggests solutions to complex legal issues. This position is based out of the Plainsboro, New Jersey location. This position follows all Novo Nordisk Inc. guidance for remote/in office dedicated time. EST time-zone hours. Relationships Reports to a Managing Senior Counsel – Contracts and will collaborate with other attorneys in the Legal Department. The Specialist will frequently interact with internal and external stakeholders including line of buiness, Procurement team members, functional subject matter experts within Novo Nordisk, Inc. and third-party vendors or their legal departments. Essential Functions
Independently draft, review and negotiate end to end a high volume of often-complex supplier-facing agreements, including nondisclosure agreements, master service agreements, software licensing agreements, amendments, substantive appendices, consulting agreements and statements of work.
Experience developing and working with standard templates and editing third-party paper to meet internal guidelines.
Deliver high quality, efficient and streamlined legal contracting support to cross-functional business teams regarding a range of legal issues and act as a liaison with the different departments to ensure issue resolution and provide escalation support as needed.
Identify and mitigate contract risks, develop risk management plans, and implement risk mitigation strategies.
Contribute and maintain centralized contract lifecycle management platform for accuracy of contract records and timeliness.
In depth understanding of local and federal regulations that may affect contracts, including trends in Privacy Law and Artificial Intelligence.
Manage tasks and projects with little guidance that require a quick response or turnaround.
Client-service oriented, with high level of attention to detail while working in a fast-paced environment and meeting tight deadlines.
Successfully, demonstrating organizational and time management skills and the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
A high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information and professionalism in dealing with senior professionals inside and outside the company are essential.
Qualifications
A Juris Doctorate, Bachelor's Degree or Paralegal certificate with a minimum of 5 years of legal experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts, preferably in the life sciences/pharmaceutical industry.
Experience working with contract management software preferred; Coupa experience is a plus.
Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance on core tasks.
Excellent organizational, planning and follow-through skills.
Must be a self-starter; flexible, customer-focused, and have a collaborative demeanor.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Products
Strong analytical research, and negotiation skills required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
