National Claims Manager

SIXT Australia is on the lookout for a permanent full time National Claims Manager to join the team. Reporting to our Head of Fleet, this position will be based at our Head Office in Wynyard CBD, however, can also be based remotely across Australia and will manage a team of claims officers to drive compliance with insurance and legal regulations and liaise with stakeholders to optimise the recovery of damage to SIXT inventory.What You'll DoAs our National Claims Manager, you will:Design, embed, and manage effective debt recovery processes for vehicle damage costs, ensuring a balance between recovery and customer experience.Drive a high-performance and accountable team culture by mentoring, training, and inspiring your claims team to deliver exceptional results.Monitor and report on claims performance, setting and achieving debt recovery targets, and taking corrective action as needed.Ensure compliance with insurance policies, legal regulations, and reporting standards, and act as an escalation point for complex claims and disputes.Champion continuous improvement, leading best practice initiatives and collaborating with franchisee business owners to drive compliance to standard operating procedures.Oversee the negotiation and approval of payment plans and manage the refund process for Loss Damage Waivers.Resolve complex customer claims and legal matters with professionalism, empathy, and a focus on fair outcomes.Please note that occasional travel will be required for this role.What You'll BringProven leadership and people management experience within a claims, insurance, or similar consumer-facing environment.Strong dispute handling, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with the MS suite and reporting systems.Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.High-level attention to detail and strong time management abilities.Ability to manage competing demands, solve problems, and make sound decisions.Self-motivated, energetic, and flexible, with a commitment to continuous learning and development.Empathy and professionalism when dealing with customers, legal teams, and external parties.What's in it for you?At SIXT we aren’t just about discounts (although you do get these too).
