These duties include but are not limited to: filing, document storage and retrieval, reception, typing, routine record keeping, maintain supplies and equipment, maintaining monthly statistics.Qualifications:Required:

High School Diploma or GED

Preferred:

Computer Skills (ie: Word, Excel, Windows)

Knowledge of medical terminology

Previous unit secretary or medical office experience

Excellent communication skills

Ability to work in a fast paced environment

Certifications and Licenses Required:

N/A

Scheduling Requirements:

Monday - Friday 11am-7:30pm

Full Time, 40 hours per week

Essential Functions:

Interacts with patients and families to help facilitate high quality patient care

Communicates and collaborates with hospital staff, physicians, and medical offices to develop and maintain procedural schedules

Answers phones promptly and relays information to appropriate person

Assembles and disassembles designated charts appropriately

Identifies and reports potential and actual patient safety issues

Keeps medical record complete and in order

Maintains unit supplies at appropriate par levels

Maintains communication with the Bed Controller and cooperates with room assignments

Performs required clerical work relating to the admission, transfer and discharge

Reviews charts for needed forms. Charts TPR, B/P for their shift on graphic reports records. Attaches all diagnostic reports to chart.
