Position OverviewGrade(s): 9-12The Dean of Academics is responsible for the instructional coaching of teachers and for the academic outcomes for students and supports the culture and climate of a high school grade level and supports those students’ social and emotional learning and development.Duties/ResponsibilitiesProvide instructional support and coaching to teachers as they work to ensure that each student can reach his or her academic potential.Support academic operations related to curriculum, assessments, and the school’s instructional guidelines.Collaborate with the Teaching and Learning team and the school leadership team to make instructional decisions based on student performance and develop teachers.Cultivate a standards-based, data, and results-oriented culture.Supporting curriculum development, using the backward design model, and advising scope and sequence based on essential content knowledge that addresses local, state and national standards.Other duties as assigned based on the current needs of the school.
