Our collaborative, cross-functional teams are committed to innovation, integrity, continual learning and strong execution.Engineer Associate / Engineer I SoftwarePerform software engineering design, development, and analysis of software at various levels including individual components, sub-systems, and systems, and perform test and integration for all phases of system, project, and application development of varying complexity, from simple tasks and single focus projects to extremely complex and multi-disciplinary efforts. May participate in or lead teams in the design, development, and execution of innovative research projects.What Youll Do:

Conceive and develop solutions to engineering problems through the application of professional and industry-wide accepted engineering techniques, practices, and procedures. Ensure that engineering work conforms to high technical and company standards and meets or exceeds all contract and customer requirements.

Gather, compile, and evaluate design and data to determine the adequacy, completeness, and engineering effectiveness of the solution compared to requirements and specifications. May be responsible for tracking performance against schedules.

Design, develop and modify software applications, systems, components, processes, and devices according to specifications.

Analyze, evaluate, and recommend innovative solutions, applications, and software design approaches required for meeting contract and customer specifications for new and modified products and systems.

Compile and prepare necessary data and engineering documents to support technical meetings and end-item product delivery.

Review drawings, procedures, and engineering orders for completeness, compatibility, producibility, and correctness.

Organize, analyze, write, and present technical marketing and proposal information for managers and customers.

Work closely with members of other engineering disciplines.

Be able to provide and communicate understanding of both the technical and non-technical aspects of projects to the team as well as the customer.

Promote development of a strong team by participation in key aspects of projects and mentoring more junior and non-software engineer team members.

Work with classified documents requiring thorough knowledge of DoD procedures for the proper usage and safeguarding of classified information.

Maintain and update required records and reports.

Present and resolve any technical software difficulties or discrepancies with the team, customers, and subcontractors in a timely manner.

Participate in software design, code, and test reviews.

Develop critical portions of software.

Understand and execute integration of software onto hardware.

Perform configuration management on all software designs, data, and deliverables.

Recommend and develop improvements to existing software.

Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company.Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

Perform other duties as necessary.

What Youll Need:

Engineer Associate - BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required.

Engineer I - BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 2 or more years related experience.

Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.

Experience with C/C and C#.

Experience with source code management and tools (Git, Subversion).

Ability to work independently and apply problem solving skills to overcome technical challenges.

Experience with real-time embedded systems preferred.

Experience with PC operating system application development preferred.

Experience with database design and management desired.

Excellent communication skills preferred.

Experience with embedded development environments preferred.

Experience with Agile development practices preferred.

On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations is required.Working Conditions:

May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.

May access other facilities in various weather conditions.

A security clearance or access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position. However, the applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.Relocation for this position is available.Compensation & Benefits:

HIRING SALARY RANGE FOR ENGINEER ASSOCIATE: $75,500 - $93,750 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

HIRING SALARY RANGE FOR ENGINEER I: $91,500- $113,500(Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
