Diagnoses operating problems, then directs and performs necessary corrective actions. Locates and marks underground water, wastewater and reclaimed water services by utilizing provided Maps and tools Performs routine servicing and corrective maintenance of water and wastewater systems. Cleans vehicles, heavy equipment, pumps, tools and other stationery and potable equipment. Performs routine inspection of vehicles and equipment. Knowledge of excavation permits, trenching, shoring etc. Maintains Effective Sample Procedures for Water Lines Performs Operations and Maintenance activities including pressure zones and sampling. Operates a Dump Truck, Hydro Excavator, Ditch Witch Etc. Assigns Duties During Emergency situations. Operates Heavy Equipment Performs Minor Preventive Maintenance. Maintains applicable records. Read Diagrams and Maps (Vision view, Collector, Etc.) Operates and maintains vehicles, equipment and tools required to load, unload, haul, and spread sand, gravel, dirt and/or waste products, digs, refills ditches and trenches. Maintains grounds and buildings; cuts grass, weeds and brush; trims trees and bushes; rakes grass; leaves and trash, seeds and cares for lawn and ornamental plantings. Understands and carries out oral and written directions. Works safely and adheres to establish safety procedures Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with those contacted during work. Ability to carry and respond to pages as requested by management. Ability and willingness to work on-call shifts, as requested, including being fit and able to respond to call-ins in a timely manner. Follow all project SOPs, policies and procedures relating to inventory control management of checking out and returning inventory. Knowledge of hooking up and towing equipment Familiarity with hand and power tools and equipment commonly used in the maintenance of vehicles, equipment, structure and buildings. Performs other duties as assigned. Possess a valid Driver’s license - New Mexico Class A commercial driver’s license High School Diploma or General Education degree (GED). 5 to 6 years’ Experience working In the Water utility field Competent in the Operations of Heavy Equipment - 6 + years New Mexico Water Supply 2 or New Mexico Water Distribution System 2 or ability to obtain within 2 yearsIdeally, you’ll also have: Advanced Knowledge in Operations and Maintenance of Water Distribution Systems. New Mexico Water Supply Level 3 or New Mexico Distribution Systems 3Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:Safety is a core value at Jacobs.
