Top level Award winning Commercial Real Estate/Property Management/Construction firm in New Mexico is seeking outstanding applicants for a Landscape Crew Leader in Albuquerque.

Summary/Objective:

The Landscape Crew Leader supervises and participates in the work of a crew performing grounds maintenance, landscaping, and equipment maintenance and repair. Employee is responsible for procurement of materials, work orders, and record-keeping for each job.

Essential Functions:

Daily Duties and requirements consist of, but are not limited to:

This position is very active and may require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.

Maintains a clean and safe work environment, including work site and equipment.

Mowing, weed pulling, line trimming, litter removal, tree and shrub trimming, raking, planting, trenching, gravel spreading, and snow removal.

Operates a variety of mechanical equipment including but not limited to bed-edger, commercial mowers, blowers, dump trailers, chain saws, line trimmers, and tillers.

Safely operates vehicles such as trucks and trailer combinations.

The ability to work outdoors in temperature extremes from over 110 degrees in the summer to below freezing in the winter

Must possess the ability to take direction and communicate effectively.

Work Environment

The employee will be expected to work outside in various weather conditions and must have suitable clothing conducive to the work environment. In accordance with federal and state laws and applicable safety regulations, employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration and noise levels typically associated with the power tools and equipment used for the position.

Preferred Education and Experience

Prior landscape Lead experience.

Knowledge of plants, insects, and landscape terminology.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

1) Must possess a valid driver’s license, and must have a clean driving record for at least five years (to be eligible for driver position).

2) Ability to work effectively and in a cohesive team atmosphere with all areas.

3) Must comply to work in a safety aware environment.

4) Ability to communicate with clients and supervisors is required.

5) Conform to dress and safety policies.

6) Ability to complete all necessary paperwork – work orders, time sheets, various inspection reports, etc.

7) Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.

8) Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

Work Environment

The employee will be expected to work outside in various weather conditions and must have suitable clothing conducive to the work environment. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and humid conditions; extreme hot and cold; high precarious places. In accordance with federal and state laws and applicable safety regulations, employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration and noise levels typically associated with the power tools and equipment used for the position.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

1. The employee must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. The employee must also be able to repeatedly carry 35-50 pounds.

2. The employee must have the ability to work outdoors in temperatures from over 110 degrees in the summer to below freezing in the winter.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Standard winter days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. through 3:00 p.m. (from Labor Day to Memorial Day); Standard summer days and hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. through 2:30 p.m. Mandatory safety meetings are held on the third Thursday of every month at 6:00 a.m., meetings are mandatory for all Landscape Technicians. Availability to work overtime is required.
