We are looking for full time Medical Technologists to work in our Farmington, CT office performing specialized testing & blood bank services to serve our local hospital clients. Available schedule is on Evening Shift Monday-Friday + on-call duties as needed.As a Medical Technologist you will perform basic and advanced donor and patient tests & interpret results to determine donor-recipient compatibility. Primary job responsibilities may include: Resolving compatibility problems Providing complex reference and consultation services to hospitals and transfusion services Performing automated and manual test procedures on blood samplesOther Medical Technologist duties may include: Managing receipt, coordination, shipment and transport of patient and donor blood samples and documenting supply and equipment problems Managing reagent inventory (ordering, receiving, inspection and preparation) Recognizing/resolving testing irregularities and assisting other Medical Technologists in problem resolution. Consulting with staff at other medical facilities, to resolve complex serologic problems and providing special units to transfusion recipients Performing maintenance, repair and validation of laboratory equipment and software Maintaining accurate records Performing manufacturing duties associated with special blood products, if applicable. Assuming lead responsibilities such as record review and training; assisting in concern management. Performing staff orientation and competency assessments, if applicable. Performing external customer education.Qualifications: MT(ASCP) or BB(ASCP) /equivalent with 4 years experience, bachelor's degree with major in biological science or chemistry plus 6 years blood banking experience, or MLT (ASCP) certification plus 4 years blood banking experience. MT (ASCP) and/or BB(ASCP) or equivalent preferred. State license may be required where applicable. Available schedule: Full-time; 37.5/wk; Mon – Friday 4pm-midnight with on call duties as assigned.Apply now! The Medical Assistant experiences continued training of all aspects of the Medical Assistant role. Provides direct patient care under direction of provider, including but not limited to vitals, allergy/ medical reconciliation, screenings, patient history, health maintenance, advance directives and virtual health. Provides indirect patient care related to the Medical Assistant scope of education including but not limited to scheduling, check in/out, referrals, chart prep and prior authorizations. Conducts point of care testing including quality control and documentation. Travel required between Hartford region offices as needed. Education: Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR an active CT CNA, EMT, Paramedic or Medic Certification OR relative experience as outlined below. Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date. All required credentials to be maintained throughout employment. Experience: In lieu of education requirement, at least one year of experience in direct patient care (acute or ambulatory space) may be considered.
