Resident Engineer

The Resident Engineer serves as the primary on-site technical liaison and customer contact for all Bosch Chassis Controls systems. This role acts as the direct technical interface between OEM engineering teams and Bosch global project teams.Major tasks include:1) On-Site Collaboration & Liaison· Act as the primary on-site liaison between Bosch and OEM project managers, operating as an integrated member of the OEM scrum team with a consistent presence on OEM campuses.· Maintain scheduling flexibility to support location rotations across engineering center in Mexico City, OEM Plant in Hermosillo, Guadalajara and Plymouth sites as required.· Proactively engage cross-functional stakeholders to drive open technical topics to rapid closure.· Represent Bosch in key alignment meetings, including OEM project meetings, Hard Rocks and debugging meetings.2) Technical Troubleshooting & Integration· Troubleshoot and debug vehicles and test benches, including wiring verification, retrieving diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), and capturing vehicle log data.· Perform hands-on vehicle integration tasks, including flash-updating Bosch Electronic Brake Control software, debugging CAN communication issues, and supporting service build/bleed procedures.· Diagnose and generate log files for debug purposes on bench/vehicle test properties.· Support sales team with part flashing and delivery.· Collaborate with the OEM Performance Engineer to coordinate comprehensive vehicle updates across Bosch software and supporting OEM systems.3) Release, Tracking, & Change Management· Own/support issue-resolution lifecycle by writing, issuing, and tracking engineering work orders, and actively managing JIRA issues to closure.· Facilitate engineering change management by initiating and driving changes/improvements through the formal processes.· Ensure software and calibration traceability, verifying that all content is correctly released through OEM and SPR release processes for each program year.4) Manufacturing, Testing, & Documentation· Provide comprehensive plant and build support across all program phases, contributing to active value engineering, cost reduction, DFA, and DFMEA activities.· Draft and contribute significantly to the development of critical customer-facing technical documentation.· Support seasonal vehicle testing activities (winter/summer development), including required travel and parts delivery.
