Position SummaryThe Certified Surgical First Assistant is an advanced Allied Health Care Practitioner that has received formal education and training through an accredited program and possesses the experience and skills needed to help the surgeon carry out a safe and successful operation with optimal results for the surgical patient.

o Minimum Education: High School graduate or equivalent. Graduate of a surgical tech program and/or current Surgical Technologist certification. Successful completion of an accredited Surgical First Assistant Program. CAAHEP accreditation preferred.

o Minimum Experience: A minimum one year experience required. On-call required.

o Certification/Licensure: Current Surgical First Assistant certification required. Current CPR Certificate required.

For New hires: BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
