Classification Summary:
To fulfill PSL contractual obligations in a timely cost effective manner through the design and implementation of electronic systems. Under general supervision, performs an assortment of research and development engineering duties such as developing, designing, and evaluating new approaches to meet project objectives, planning of manufacturing and fabrication, and the installation, operation, and maintenance of complex apparatus. Performs complex activities in the use of devices for commercial, domestic, and industrial use. Works directly with engineers in other disciplines to augment production size and value and meet customer and contract specifications and requirements.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Works as part of a contractor team with various stakeholders across the NMSU Physical Science Lab along with a team of professionals from other institutions. Under supervision performs work that is varied and that may be somewhat difficult in character, but usually involves limited responsibility. Responsible for full lifecycle application and hardware development, Object-oriented Design and Analysis (OOA and OOD, software modeling, and simulation and front-end graphical user interface design. Responsible for developing, testing, and documenting software that will be used to interface with multiple systems that together comprise the infrastructure used to test a wide variety of advanced ground to air systems.
Special Requirements:
Electrical Engineering degree
Must be a U.S. Citizen
This position is subject to random drug testing in compliance with its drug-free workplace requirements.
Ability to obtain a DoD Clearance and maintain clearance through employment.
Occasional travel is required to support contract missions.
