DUTIES:
Monitoring access control and challenging those without proper identification.
Maintaining the visitor management system, checking visitors, guests.
Issuing badges and access cards and maintaining security logs.
Monitoring a CCTV system.
Vehicle and Foot patrols of the interior and exterior.
Checking in authorized personnel onsite.
Working a standing post for 8-hour shifts or longer.
Ability to interact with the public in a direct and professional manner, strong interpersonal skills.
TO SUCCEED AT METRO ONE:
Have excellent interpersonal communication skills in customer service.
High level of awareness, attentiveness, and alertness.
Ability to de-escalate situations and remain calm in confrontation.
Capable of standing for long periods of time and exhibiting physical strength.
Astute observation and detailed notetaking/reporting.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Service in Military Occupational Specialty related to law enforcement security (such as Military Police, Security Police, or Corrections.
Must have a valid New Mexico security license or the ability to attain one.
High school diploma or equivalent
Bachelor's degree in protective services, business, or related field preferred
A minimum of 2 or more years of active service in any military branch with an honorable, medical, or general discharge
Associate degree (or 60 credits) or higher in law enforcement or criminal justice with current or prior active military service
3 years of verifiable private/corporate security experience/corporate customer service
