They perform manual charge entry and participate with Claims Solution Specialist-Coders in the continuous improvement efforts focused on increasing the efficiency and accuracy of the professional claims process.ScopeAs a Charge Capture Specialist for the ED you need to know how toApply SCL Charge Master, Compliance and regulatory guidelines to identify and appropriately charge for all procedures and supply chargesPartner with physicians, clinical departments and others to clarify documentation questions, as needed utilizing SCL standardized logging and communication processIdentify and communicates deficiencies and trends to the ED leadership and Revenue Practice TeamMonitor and resolve assigned Epic work queues and billing related correspondence according to the Charge Capture and Accountability PolicyIdentify charge issues/opportunities and works with departments to make recommendations, resolve issues and enhance charge capture and complianceInstruct clinicians, (one on one or in groups) on the charge capture process in Epic and how accurate documentation relates to accurate charge captureParticipate in continuing education programs to maintain an understanding of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, disease processes and surgical techniques to support the effective application of coding guidelines and maintains professional credentials required by this position..Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent, requiredAdditional coursework in medical terminology, or anatomy and physiology, requiredAssociates or Bachelors Degree in healthcare related field, preferredCertified Professional Coder (CPC), Registered Health Information Professional (RHIT), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Associate (CCA), or currently enrolled in a coding certificate program that must be completed within 9 months of employment, requiredMinimum of one (1) year of professional or facility healthcare office, medical record, technical or coding experience, requiredAt least two (2) years of experience, preferred.Physical Requirements:Minimum Qualifications: Medical billing experience Preferred Qualifications: Professional coding (CPT, ICD, HCPCS) experienceRoot cause analysis experience Physical Requirements Interact with others requiring the employee to communicate information. NEW MEXICO ARMY NATIONAL GUARD This National Guard position is for a IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC), Position Description Number T5701700 and is part of the NM DCSIM, National Guard. Responsibilities This position is located at the JFHQ-State in the Chief Information Officer directorate. The primary purpose of this position is to provide auditing to ensure secure operations of the network enclave and provide incident response actions as directed by the cybersecurity service provider. Conducts audits of information systems compliance, to include network devices; servers; and end user devices, related to security standards, guides and application updates to enable and ensure accreditation of all systems IAW with all command, Army, and DOD security directives, policies and procedures. Ensures that all elements are in compliance with guidance concerning accreditation of automated information systems, risk management, control of computer viruses, and other similar issues. Reviews Army Training and Certification Tracking System, approves new user accounts, and conducts ongoing audits to ensure all privileged and user accounts comply with Army Standards. Conducts investigation of security incidents, reports findings to leadership and remediates findings based on guidance from the cybersecurity service provider and IAW with all command, Army, and DOD security directives, policies and procedures to include: computer viruses and sanitation of highly classified information from organization. Must anticipate the effects of new emerging technology and develop policies to control it to prevent security violations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-11- Must have at least 36 months experience, education, or training that approaches techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization. Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls. Experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment. Experience preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies where is involved summarizing the material and organizing it in a logical fashion. Education This job does not have an education qualification requirement. You must provide transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims.
