Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Buyer located in Albany, New York. The role primarily revolves around supporting our procurement operations. You will be working in a team environment, collaborating with various departments such as engineering and project management to ensure smooth execution of procurement processes. This role is a contract to permanent employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors. Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to identify project equipment and subcontractor requirements. Oversee the timely delivery of equipment and subcontractors to meet the needs of the project team. Manage logistics for equipment delivery to project sites. Gather pricing and delivery information for pre-construction and estimating teams. Execute NDCA’s for new suppliers and maintain data entry in Viewpoint. Participate in project conference calls and supplier meetings. Distribute RFQ’s to suppliers and monitor progress. Draft Purchase Orders for Major Equipment. Draft Change Orders for Major Equipment and Subcontractors. Track and support all aspects of the procurement process post order execution. Requirements The candidate must have a bachelor's degree in business, fashion, or a related field. Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within a retail or fashion environment, would be advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential. The candidate should have excellent negotiation and communication skills. The ability to analyze sales reports and market research is required. The candidate should have strong organizational and multitasking skills. The ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines is necessary. Knowledge of current fashion trends and brands is required. The candidate must have the ability to work collaboratively within a team. The ability to travel to trade shows, conferences, and other events may be required.
