Working title: Procurement AssistantPosition Description:The New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) is seeking a motivated candidate to join our contracts and grants team. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines, organize efficiently, and adapt to changing tasks and handle multiple priorities.The Procurement Assistant will work directly under the Assistant Director of Contracts and Grants and assist the unit in all aspects of procurement.Primary Responsibilities: Assist in review and organization of various solicitations, contracts, and grants Schedule meetings and monitor several email mailboxes Perform a wide variety of activities associated with contractual and administrative services Assist with special projects as assignedTechnical Qualifications- Please provide experience with the following and include the number of years. At minimum an Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree preferred (recent graduates with less than full time experience are encouraged to apply) Employment history of at least 2 years (office experience preferred, not necessarily required) Excellent writing and analytical skills, strong communication and organizational skills Experience with Microsoft applicationsAdditional Notes: This position is currently vacant. Interviews will be conducted in person at the location listed On the job training will be provided. Hours listed above are preferred typical hours. Occasional flexibility of hours will be allowed under certain circumstances. Total hours will be 37.5 hours per week. Overtime is not expected. This position qualifies for up to 50% telecommuting (up to 2-3 days per week, no more than 5 days every 2 weeks), after aninitial training period and subject to department head approval. A laptop will be provided for in-office and at home use. The building is accessible on CDTA Bus Route 13, 18, 100, and 734.
