Location: Binghamton, NY Category: Professional Posted On: Fri Dec 13 2024 Job Description: Budget Title: Instructional Support Associate (SL-2)Salary: $50,000 - $54,000The Fire Safety Systems Coordinator will be responsible for:

The inspection and testing of fire alarm and sprinkler systems in state buildings to maintain compliance with applicable state and federal regulations

Fire extinguisher inspections and maintenance

Respond to fire alarms on campus

Develop and deliver multiple safety programs

Coordinate the repair and maintenance of fire safety systems

Accompany regulatory inspectors (NYSOFPC, etc.)

Assist other EH&S members with safety training and other projects

Provide EH&S coverage and services at campus events as requested (commencement, concerts, etc.)

Participate in campus Essential Employee program

Participate on campus Incident Management Team, including meetings, drills, and when team is called into action

Assist with confined space/hot work/system impairment program. Issue permits as assigned

Schedule, coordinate, and oversee required fire drills

Job Requirements:

Associate's degree (or higher)

Minimum of three years of direct experience and knowledge of NYS Codes and NFPA

Applicants must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team to maintain accurate records and documentation

Strong communication skills and the ability to work with a diverse population

Must be able to work effectively as a member of the fire safety team

Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds regularly

Preferred:

Working knowledge of NYS building codes

Working knowledge of NFPA
