Banking Services Operations Associate IV - Mortgage Payments & Maintenance

Overview:Completes skilled processing and research duties related to mortgage payment, payoff and special loans.Primary Responsibilities:

Complete complex data entry, system updates, analysis and Interpretation related to mortgage payments, payoffs and special product maintenance.

Complete non-standardized document review and validation related to mortgage notes, modifications and ACH (Automated ClearingHouse) agreements.

Complete intermediate-level document review and/or preparation related to verification of mortgage loan documents and adherence to procedures.

Respond to or initiate non-standardized requests on exception payment applications or mortgage document term research.

Complete high complexity non-standardized research on missing or misapplied payments and payoffs.

Complete intermediate-level analysis and reconciliations and assist in review and research of reconciling items.

Complete non-standard exception processing of payments, payoffs and ARM (Adjustable Rate Mortgage) criteria outside current system logic.

May contact internal business partners or external customers regarding issues around mortgage payment, payoff or payment parameters.

Work with, assist, complete quality control and provide coaching and training to offshore vendors who are processing work on behalf of the Bank.

Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.

Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.

Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

Complete other related duties as assigned.

Scope of Responsibilities:The jobholder may work in Mortgage Payments, Payoffs or Special Products and is responsible for mid-level tasks noted above. This requires the position to complete mathematical analyses and expanded use of judgment within assigned department. The jobholder requires highly specialized knowledge of the servicing system, products and pertinent policies and regulations.Education and Experience Required:Associate's degree and a minimum of 1 year’s general work experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 3 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 1 year’s general work experienceProven internal and external customer service experienceProficiency with personal computer as well as pertinent spreadsheet and word processing softwareDemonstrated verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated complex problem-solving skillsEducation and Experience Preferred:Bachelor’s degreeM&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees.
