You can grow your career here while enjoying first-class perks, benefits and commitment to diversity and inclusion.OverviewThe Data Foundation Developer-Senior will create and maintain enterprise level foundational data solutions to support corporate wide reporting efforts. The Senior Developer will work as a lead to develop and enforce best practices for reporting, data modeling, and process development. They will play a lead role with business and technical stakeholders to define and deliver optimal data solutions and lead design, development, and implementation of data that feeds into corporate metrics reports and dashboards. The Developer will work with resources in Informatics and IT to develop best practice processes in support of the Information Development Life Cycle as related to the organizational strategy, in the most effective manner possible. The Developer will be a lead resource to the business in knowledge transfer and customer support assistance for understanding and use of data, systems and reports. They will maintain and support a culture of compliance, security and data integrity and knowledge of policies and procedures.By fostering a culture of data excellence, the Data Foundation Developer-Senior will play a pivotal role in transforming raw data into actionable insights that drive informed decision-making.Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required. An additional four (4) years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree.

Five (5) years of analytical experience using Business Intelligence tools to develop reporting solutions, interactive dashboards, and scorecards required. This shall include extensive experience in one of the Informatics development tools or an equivalent industry standard compatible tool.

Knowledge of Independent Health EDW, Health Rules, Carelon, EyeMed, Liberty Dental and Fee for Service data preferred.

Knowledge of healthcare concepts and healthcare data, for example CPT, HCPCS, DRG, ICD-10/ICD-9 Code, etc.

Experience integrating data into reports with at least one of the less-common data sources, unstructured or cloud-based data, which are inclusive of but not limited to ADT data, SNOWMED data, HL7 resources, LOINC coded base data, immunization data, JSON files, etc.

Extensive experience in the use of databases, data access and programming tools.

Advanced report development skills and ability to “sandbox” new report models.

Experience with OLAP, dimensional modeling, data warehouse development, implementation, and maintenance. Sound understanding and foundation of dimensional modeling.

Advanced knowledge of data mining and manipulation of data with SQL, SAS, and Python.

Experience with cloud-based data platforms (AWS and Azure) preferred. Strong attention to details.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve data quality issues.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with other resources in Informatics, business and technical stakeholders. Ability to communicate clearly in writing to document data requirements and translate into technical solutions that meet business objectives.

Ability to train and mentor end users and transfer knowledge with a customer-centric approach.

Ability to use sound judgment and decision-making, and the appropriate sense of urgency.

Strong dedication to customer service and appropriate follow-through with customers.

Ability to be productive with minimal supervision.

Essential Accountabilities

Work directly with business units and end users to understand their business reporting needs and develop and maintain standardized data solutions, Informatics App, Quality Datamart, and other run the business processes. These solutions will support the downstream reports, dashboards and scorecards that utilize Informatics approved applications to deliver solutions.

Work directly with business units and end users to share data, application, and reporting knowledge; be proactive in identifying training needs.

Model potential reporting solutions and discuss with both technical and business community for shared understanding and optimal decision-making.

Collaborate with others in the organization to ensure successful implementation of chosen problem solutions.

Analyze information obtained from management to conceptualize and define operational problems.

Collaborate with senior managers and decision makers to identify and solve a variety of problems and to clarify management objectives.

Define data requirements and gather and validate information, applying judgment and statistical tests.

Study and analyze information about alternative courses of action to determine which plan will offer the best outcomes.

Develop and maintain appropriate documentation on reports throughout the development lifecycle.

Participate in integration, performance, and user acceptance testing for Data Foundation solutions.

Provide technical assistance with troubleshooting reports and/or cubes by responding to inquiries and questions.

Collaborate with Informatics team members to develop and maintain standards for Data Foundation solutions, along with appropriate processes and workflows.

Challenge the current process and create innovative ways to solve business problems with use of non-standard data sources such as EMR and Cloud data sources.

Support the users of the Data Foundation solutions and participate in on-call support role.

Build, maintain, and monitor automated jobs that process, transform, and report data.

Interact proactively with analysts and business users and communicate in appropriate and user-friendly formats and documents.

Contribute to an information reporting “library” or similar forum which promotes sharing of information with analysts and business users throughout the organization.
