This position is a full-time position. Duties of this position include working directly with the classroom teacher toco-teach to implement lessons, small group instruction and overall classroom management. RESIDENT TEACHER — Must hold a valid NYS Certification as a NYS Teacher The Resident Teacher is responsible for providing instructional and behavioral support to students under the direct supervision of a classroom teacher. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Work with teachers to address individual needs of students
Work with students individually or in small groups, under supervision
Assist in classroom management
Use materials effectively and keep activity focused on objective
Attend professional development training
Co-teach instructionally with classroom teacher
Plan with grade level team
Other duties may be determined
Opportunities to work afterschool programming
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required
New York State teaching certification
Teaching or student teaching experience in a school preferred
