Overview:The Talent Acquisition Technical Sourcer is a highly strategic individual contributor role that develops comprehensive sourcing strategies. He/she understands the technology talent landscape and how it has evolved over time. Continuously monitors new technical sourcing channels where technical talent can be found. In this role the Technical Sourcer proactively campaigns leveraging messages that will resonate with passive technical talent. The Technical Sourcer intrinsically understands technology well enough to be able to attract, qualify and recommend passive talent. Leveraging AI tools, they build talent lists using technical terminology to harvest talent from across the country and in some cases internationally. Technical sourcers have strong relationships and are known to the technical community and will have a pipeline of talent that follows them throughout their career.Primary Responsibilities:

Keeping abreast of the academic direction for technology programs within universities to forecast future talent availability.

Assist in the development and deployment of innovative technical sourcing strategies for Technology to build a pipeline of qualified candidates, using effective resources and optimizing various recruitment channels.

Proactively research and assess the viability of new recruitment methodologies via benchmarking and talent market research, and make recommendations on new sourcing approaches

Train and mentor recruiters within Talent Acquisition on how to improve their search and cold calling techniques.

Research and gather market intelligence to understand and execute against shifts in the marketplace that present recruiting opportunities; this includes networking with industry contacts, colleagues, trade groups, etc. to maintain knowledge base and generate leads

Directly contact prospective candidates via social media, email, and/or phone calls to gain their interest to a potential M&T Bank role

Craft custom outreach methods and provide meaningful candidate engagement to create a world-class candidate experience throughout the lifecycle of the recruitment process; this includes recommending and driving improvements with recruiters and interviewing teams to effectively screen and assess talent, as well as tracking the progress of candidates

Implement and execute on targeted Technology recruitment initiatives, including consultation on the requirements with Recruiting Team Managers and hiring managers to generate and implement a specific sourcing strategy to locate and secure high-quality talent

Utilize data and metrics from recruitment activities to provide insights and recommend continuous improvements to the recruitment process.

Serve in a consulting and mentoring capacity to the Technology Recruitment Team

Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.

Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.

Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

Complete other related duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required

10 years of overall recruitment experience with a minimum of 5 years of technical recruiting and/or technical sourcing experience

Highly knowledgeable of technology terms including: hardware, software, applications, languages, architectures, infrastructure, networking, etc.

Experience attracting talent from technical hubs both locally and nationally

Able to ask questions to clearly understand the technology domain in which they are recruiting for to be able to market to and attract technology talent.

Understanding of recruiting and employer branding strategies

Strong client focus with outstanding judgment, critical thinking and communication skills

Ability to multi-task and deal with uncertainties of an evolving, dynamic organization

Strong attention to detail required

Research/sourcing skills. Including use of Boolean, LinkedIn, and alternative search techniques

Ability to deliver results with little supervision, and effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects and candidates

Strong ability to build relationships internally and externally

Education and Experience Preferred:

Ability to meet submittal goals on a weekly basis

Ability to interact and influence all levels of management and prospective candidates.

MBA Degree

Experience working in technology recruiting

Direct Sourcing a must

Experience using an applicant tracking system or strong technical aptitude to quickly learn a new system.

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $85,104.04 - $141,840.07 (USD).
