The Administrative Coordinator in the Department of Psychology performs many critical functions for the Department, including serving as the primary assistant to the Chairperson in all administrative matters and being the public face of the Department. As a result, excellent communication, exceptional organization, strong data/records management skills, and reliability/dependability, are paramount to the position. The successful candidate will be a strong planner capable of juggling multiple priorities and observing tight deadlines without compromising quality or customer service.Specific responsibilities are as follows:
Maintaining Department records including admissions, attrition, graduation, and advisement statistics.
Help to compile data for annual reporting.
Assisting the Department Chairperson with course planning/scheduling each semester.
Assisting the Department Chairperson with Department budget planning.
Responsibilities include purchasing on behalf of the Department and performing monthly reconciliations and budget analysis.
On-boarding newly hired faculty.
Oversight/scheduling of faculty observations for renewal, tenure, and promotion.
Assisting incoming freshmen, non-matriculated, and transfer students with registration.
Draft correspondence throughout the semester to full-time and part-time faculty.
Hiring and supervision of work-study students.

Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree awarded by December 2024.
Proficiency in software (e.g. Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Two years' experience working in an academic department.
Proficiency with: Banner, SUNY Business Intelligence, DegreeWorks, SUNY procurement systems, SUNY vendor sourcing, Interview Exchange.
Project management experience and digital sharing/cloud management experience.
Graduate of Farmingdale State College.
Additional Information:
This is a full-time UUP position.
