As a member of the Patient Services team, and under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the Patient Care Associate (PCA) performs all aspects of first-level patient care, and also assumes responsibility for maintenance of all emergency equipment supplies. The PCA ensures a safe environment for patients, visitors, and coworkers, as well as appropriate utilization of resources. This position provides rapid response to patient/family needs and requests.High school graduate or GED

Medical terminology preferred

Experience equivalent to 100 hours of patient care experience strongly preferred.

Assumes responsibility for maintaining current knowledge related to the age and development of the patient population served.

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required; can be obtained after hire.

Certified Nurse Assistant preferred.

  • POSITION SUMMARY

  • This position provides administrative and program support for the Oncology Services Division. The primary role is to ensure accurate patient registration, insurance verification, authorization of services and appeal of denials for Cancer Center patients. This includes supervision of the Referral and Authorization Specialists and the Patient Registration staff ensuring superior operational efficiency and customer satisfaction for the patients, physicians and staff in the oncology clinic as well as those that interact with this area of the Cancer Center.
