The PCA ensures a safe environment for patients, visitors, and coworkers, as well as appropriate utilization of resources. This position provides rapid response to patient/family needs and requests. Note: Patient Care Associate II title is reserved for former LPNs working in Patient Services departments in the Hospital. Education/Experience: High school graduate or GED Medical terminology preferred Experience equivalent to 100 hours of patient care experience strongly preferred. Assumes responsibility for maintaining current knowledge related to the age and development of the patient population served. Skills/Abilities: Able to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing. Evidences customer service skills consistent with GFH values and mission Ability to follow directions; perform routine responsibilities in a flexible, self-directed manner Ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as, instructions, policies, procedures. Basic math skills with ability to compute figures. Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy and physiology preferred. Licenses/Certificates/Registrations: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required; can be obtained after hire. Certified Nurse Assistant preferred. Salary Range The expected base rate for this Glens Falls, New York, United States-based position is $18.00 to $25.95 per hour. Exact rate is determined on a case-by-case basis commensurate with experience level, as well as education and certifications pertaining to each position which may be above the listed job requirements.
