Alps Sweet Shop in Beacon, NY is looking for one manager to join team. We are located on 269 Main St. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, motivated, and hard-working.General Job Purpose: To oversee the entire operation of the retail space while completing the daily required work involving excellent customer service, product displaying, employee issues and being aware of preparing future orders and tasks. Responsible for scheduling, hiring/firing, delegating work to staff according to what’s being produced.Physical Requirements: Consistently lift and move boxes (average 25 pounds) Stand for the duration of the shift Climb up and down a stepstool and stepladder Use hands, wrists, fingers and arms for duration of shift Safely operate equipment necessary to run the department Qualifications: Communicate clearly with customers and co-workers Employees are our internal customers; treat them with the same courtesy and respect as our external customers Must work efficiently and at a productive pace per business needs Must be able to work scheduled shift Follow all store safety policies and procedures Be able to concentrate on tasks in order to avoid injury and waste of product Recommend ideas to customers by exploring customer preferences and advocating Alps products Job Description: When a customer needs assistance, give the customer priority over the task at hand Train new associates Print labels on softwares BarTender Design and LabelMatrix, and basic computer knowledge Create monthly work schedules Weekly payroll service Walk to the local bank to exchange money once a week Delegate tasks based on the business seasonal needs Be familiar with available product, including specialty products such as sugar-free, gluten-free, and products from nut-free facilities Fill shelves and rotate all products to ensure freshness at all times and regularly check all products for quality Take customer orders both in person and on the phone Keep track of supply inventory, inform the chocolatier when inventory is running low, and order supplies from different companies when needed. Be the final line for quality control: look for packaging issues and be vigilant about quality and presentation of all products put out for sale Empty cases and shelves to clean them and load with oldest product in front Keep all areas of the department clean and organized, including the sales floor and bagging area. Ensure that customers receive the best customer service by providing friendly, polite, and knowledgeable service Greet customers personally and thank them appreciatively for shopping at Alps Bag, label and price all items that are repackaged Rotate products to keep older product in front and stock cases and displays, making sure product is correctly labeled and there are no empty spaces If assigned, assist with merchandising the candy displays Disclaimer:The above statements are intended to describe the general responsibilities of this position.
