To succeed in this position, you should be able to review financial statements with a heavy data entry component. An Excel enthusiast interested in spreadsheet creation and manipulation will thrive in this entry-level position. This long-term contract / temporary entry-level Accountant position is located in New York, New York.Major responsibilities
Researching and correcting account discrepancies
Aiding in audit fieldwork for both operational and financial audits
Making sure that accounts contained in the general ledger are correct
Assisting with full cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
Perform data entry
Carrying out alternate duties and taking part in special projects as assigned
Preparing monthly journal entries Requirements - Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, vlookups) is preferred
Data entry, document management, file creation and previous records experience required
Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills
Excellent attention to detail
Applicants are recommended to hold an AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
Desire to thrive in scenarios of team-based work or independent tasks, always looking to learn more and take initiative on a number of different projects and tasks
Journal entries experience
Expertise in cash reconciliations
Daily Reconciliation experience
Background working with Accounts Receivable (AR)
Deep understanding of bank reconciliations
Accounts Payable (AP) experience highly preferred
Earlier work involving Microsoft Excel
General familiarity with auditing
Adeptness in bank statements
Experience with bank reconciliations
Good understanding of Sage Intacct
Practical knowledge of Intercompany Accounting
Demonstrated knowledge of Reconcile Bank Statements
1 year of accounting experience
