Responsibilities:
Organize media for edit
Work with post-production team, creating files of library episodes for dubbing to additional languages
Prepare scripts for translation, checking for accuracy
Research and fact-check story details in existing shows, calling attorneys, reading court records and contacting interview subjects for updated information
Participate in the scripting of legal and/or story updates
Participate in shooting and editing as directed
Coordinate with technical, operations staff and external resources
Research and procure archival footage for story updates
Screen episodes for quality control
Update scripts and archival records
Create Music Cue Sheets
Basic Qualifications:
Must have at least 2 years of editorial production experience in long form programming for network or cable operations
Must have a Bachelor’s degree
Must be bilingual, fluent in both Spanish and English
Ability to learn a variety of apps/programs quickly – such as INEWS, Airtable, and Media Central
Desired Characteristics:
Knowledge of NBC News Policies and Guidelines and Practices
Demonstrated strong knowledge and interest in true crime, news and current events
Strong journalistic writing skills, research skills, and editorial judgment
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments
Ability to communicate well with the team on the story as well as your manager
Ability to edit with non-linear editing systems especially Avid a plus, but not necessary
