Job DescriptionUnder the general direction of the supervisor of the Purchasing Unit, the selected candidate will be responsible for, with some latitude for decision making, the supervision of a group of storerooms at various Housing Authority locations, ensuring locations are maintained to effectively service the developmentā€™s community. In addition, candidate will liaise with community developments to process purchasing needs as related to goods and services. Duties shall include but are not limited to the following:

Assist in purchasing goods, services and/or construction for their assisted group of neighborhood developments.

Provide necessary vendor management on purchasing order status for community developments.

Advise and assist operational, technical, and professional staff members in the process of managing contracts services for the improvement of the community they are serving.

Work across departments to assist in ascertaining community development needs as it relates to purchasing.

Provide timely customer service to community development requestors as well as internal stakeholders.

Review purchasing borough community development Oracle queue and process assigned borough requisitions or requested expedited community related requisitions.

Coordinate all storeroom procedures and activities internally; conduct and participate in training of subordinates.

Assist with the MWBE and Section 3 to ensure viable opportunities are utilized within the community.

Assist with monitoring of purchasing trends for and liaising with Procurement staff for developing contractual needs for the enhancement of the development.

Perform other related duties assigned by the supervisor and supervise in the absence of the direct supervisor.

Troubleshoot purchasing issues.

High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or

Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.
