About the Role:Grade Level (for internal use):14Job Overview:As the Head of Engineering for Business Services, you will be responsible for architecting, developing, and managing a suite of shared business services that streamline the core business functions across multiple product lines within the analytical portfolio. These services will include, but are not limited to the ratings workflow functions, content management/publishing functions, and analytical data management functions. Your work will enable internal teams to focus on their specific domain while relying on scalable and reusable business service solutions.You will lead a team of engineers, ensuring the successful design, development, and deployment of these services. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a key technical initiative within our organization, directly impacting both internal operations and client-facing products.You will work with global staff of software engineers across “value streams” and partner with your Product Management and Quality peers to support a large, global group of agile scrum teams.Key Responsibilities:· Lead Engineering Team: Manage and mentor a team of engineers responsible for developing and maintaining common business services. Promote best practices for development, testing, and deployment.· Service Architecture & Design: Architect high-performance, scalable, and reliable business services that meet the needs of cross-functional teams. Focus on modularity, maintainability, and reusability of solutions.· Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and other technical teams to ensure business services meet the needs of the organization and stakeholders.· Technology Selection & Innovation: Evaluate and recommend new technologies, frameworks, and tools to continuously improve the quality and efficiency of the business services portfolio.· Code Quality & Standards: Establish and enforce coding standards, conduct code reviews, and ensure the delivery of clean, maintainable code.· Performance & Scalability: Optimize services for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency. Drive efforts to ensure all services meet SLAs and quality benchmarks.· Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by leveraging agile methodologies, iterative development, and data-driven decision-making to optimize service performance and functionality.· Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Ensure thorough documentation is created for all business services and promote knowledge sharing across teams to facilitate best practices and shared ownership.Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $158,000 to $245,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits.
