Head of Strategic Enterprise Risk Management

About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking a Head of Strategic Enterprise Risk Management to oversee four of the company's five Enterprise Risk Programs (ERPs): Risk Measurement, Enterprise Risk Identification and Assessment, New Business Initiatives and Escalations and Issue Management. In addition to the ERPs, SERM has oversight of three of the company's risk types: Climate Risk, Reputation Risk and Strategic Risk, and performs critical functions including oversight of customer redress and governance of Foundational Risk Components, inclusive of risk and control taxonomies.In this role, you will:

Lead the company's enterprise risk programs, governance, and infrastructure.

Provide an aggregated, integrated, and holistic view and understanding of Wells Fargo's combined risks and help the company address those risks.

Transform the culture of SERM while focusing on program simplification and stakeholder needs.

Simplify enterprise risk reporting ensuring it is actionable and succinct.

Simplify and make clearer the importance of the enterprise risk programs and integration with other risks in the company.

Enhance the Enterprise Thematic Analysis operating model and processes.

Provide vision and direction to SERM employees on multiple high impact initiatives geared towards achieving long-term strategic objectives.

Direct and oversee complex regulatory environments.

Manage allocation of people and financial resources for SERM.

Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy.

Required Qualifications, US:

10+ years of Enterprise Risk experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

5+ years of Management experience

Required Qualifications, International:

Experience in Risk Management (Compliance, Financial Crimes, Operational Risk, Audit, Legal, Credit Risk, Market Risk) or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Management experience

Desired Qualifications:

Extensive experience designing and executing enterprise risk programs, including risk identification and assessment processes, issue management, new product/business initiatives.

Deep understanding of the ever-evolving governance and regulatory environments as well as industry and risk-related best practices.

Organizational courage and willingness to make tough, informed decisions and thoughtfully share independent perspectives.

Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, coupled with an ability to translate ambiguous ideas/issues into well-defined plans/solutions with a track record for delivering results.

Effective communicator, both orally and in writing; able to ask well-crafted questions and present ideas in a clear and compelling manner; good listener who engenders creative thinking and teamwork.

An ability to develop and articulate sound proposals to key stakeholders, and an ability to influence and drive timely decision making.

Proven ability to cultivate relationships and collaborate with multiple stakeholders and constituencies, including business leaders, legal, audit and multiple U.S. and non-U.S. regulators.

Proven experience establishing a large-scale vision, developing the strategy to support the vision, gaining consensus across key functional leadership areas through effective communication, and successful delivery against goals and objectives.

Experience driving large-scale organizational change.

Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams, ensuring proper staffing and expertise; manage the establishment of major policies and relevant compliance programs across major business divisions within a large and complex organization.
