High Voltage Transmission Electrical Engineer

AECOM has a position available for a High Voltage Transmission Electrical Engineer with a specialization in HVDC electrical power systems.

The focus of your experience must be in the power industry and be associated with electrical engineering with respect to the design of HVDC terrestrial / submarine cable systems and converter stations.

The responsibilities of this role include, but may not be limited to, the following:Engineering support for HVDC terrestrial and submarine cable systems and converter stationsSupporting HVDC cable routing and converter station feasibility studiesProviding technical support input during the project permitting phasePreparation of conceptual level engineering documentsWorking with Project Engineer and Project Manager on developing design schedules and budgets for electrical engineering work activitiesSupporting clients with utility interface and technical coordinationPower system studies (load flow, short circuit, protective coordination, arc flash analysis)PSCAD model development and analysisPreparation of one line and three-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, BOMs, wire schedule, interconnection diagramsField experience including witnessing testing of HVDC equipment and systemsDeveloping construction and equipment specificationsSupporting projects during construction, start-up, and commissioning as neededGrounding Analysis and DesignReviewing engineering work performed by peersAttending client meetingsAssist in the promotion of AECOM's capabilities while maintaining our existing client base andProvides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise, technical expertise for studies and design efforts, and presents complex technical solutions to clientsPerform quality control reviews of work developed by othersParticipate in development of technical proposalsProvides estimates for the engineering budget and scheduleFor this role, AECOM offers the freedom and flexibility to work remotely and/or be located at a variety of Energy offices in multiple locations across the United States through our Freedom to Grow program
