Jr. Resident Engineer

A top leading engineering consulting firm, is seeking a Resident Engineer to join their d ynamic team in NYC! This is an exceptional long-term opportunity with ample room for growth within one of the premier engineering firms in the area. As a Resident Engineer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing street tree planning projects across the five boroughs, ensuring compliance with specifications and safety protocols.Job Description:

Conduct 100% field work, primarily focused on street tree planning projects within one borough.

Actively observe contractors on site, ensuring adherence to project specifications and safety regulations.

Coordinate with the Project Manager to ensure adequate staffing levels for project requirements.

Collaborate with the Parks Department and contractors to facilitate project progress.

Utilize specification books to understand project requirements and ensure compliance.

Maintain a safe work environment, including ensuring contractors wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Record and track measurements for pay items, such as tree planting and excavation, to facilitate contractor payments.

No tree climbing, pruning, or work on active roadways; all activities will be conducted on land level.

Schedule: Working hours: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM.Qualifications:

Minimum of 1+ year of relevant experience in construction related industry

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management

Detail-oriented with strong report writing skills.

Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Must have personal vehicle

OSHA 10 certification required (can obtain after receiving an offer)
