Sponsored Products helps merchants, retail vendors and brand owners grow incremental sales of their products on Amazon through native product advertising. The Sponsored Products Supply team works on complex engineering, optimization, econometric and user-experience problems in order to deliver relevant product ads on Amazon search pages world-wide.As a software engineer on this team you will partner with product and engineering leaders to lay the technical vision for a Tier-1 platform ingesting and brokering data to serve 50+ use-cases across Amazon Advertising. You will build and operate an extremely large scale, distributed, highly available and low latency system handling billions of requests a day, using highly optimized in-memory caching techniques. Come join us as we innovate and launch exciting new products and services!Key job responsibilitiesAs an engineer on my team, you will peer with senior engineers and product leaders to build and operate an extremely large scale, distributed, highly available and low latency system handling 50+ billion requests a day using highly optimized in-memory caching techniques. These roles have tremendous growth opportunities as you will be working on systems and algorithms on one of the world's largest product catalogs, matching shoppers with advertised products with strict latency constraints (sub 100ms) and delivering tangible shopper experiences.A day in the lifeWe are a close-knit group that care deeply about the quality of our work and are motivated by the complexity of problems we solve and the impact we deliver to our stakeholders and to Amazon at large. The team is comprised of several seasoned senior engineers who take pride in mentoring and up-leveling junior and mid-level engineers. We have delivered stellar results each year, but have managed to do it at a durable pace without any employee turnover.Basic Qualifications

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
