DescriptionIf you're looking to build your career in accounting, there's currently a Staff Accountant position through Accountemps that you may want to check out. Based in the New York, New York area, this exciting long-term temporary-to-full-time opportunity is set in an engaging work place where hard work is rewarded. In this role, the Staff Accountant holds responsibility for preparing monthly and year-end closings, fixed asset maintenance, journal entries, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. Be prepared to dedicate a fair amount of time to producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. And during the monthly close, your responsibilities will also cover various aspects of internal reporting. You'll also be reviewing schedules for the reporting processes, communicating with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and playing an active role in compliance.For immediate consideration please email your resume to j.p.omalley@accountemps.comRequirements

Competent with spreadsheets and databases

BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills

Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment

Recent and relevant accounting experience

Account reconciliation experience preferred

Strong familiarity with NetSuite

Accounts Payable (AP) experience

Expertise in Microsoft Excel

Exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills

Current and relevant ERP system experience

High attention to detail

Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
