Golden Diner is an intimate and welcoming Asian diner located in Manhattan’s Two Bridges. Contrary to your average diner, our restaurant has achieved national acclaim and recognition from the New York Times, James Beard Foundation, Food & Wine Magazine, The New Yorker, Vogue, and Resy, to name a few. We are searching for an Assistant General Manager to join our team. This is a leadership position that will work closely with the General Manager and Chef & Owner to lead our FOH.

Do You Have These Skills & Experience?

Experience in a concept-driven, high-volume restaurant (or equivalent relevant experience).

Experience in building out a team, and implementing FOH and HR systems, preferred.

High interest and understanding of Asian cuisine, beverages, and culture.

Excellent communication and people management skills.

Familiarity with fast-paced restaurant dynamic.

Working knowledge of standard restaurant management tools (Toast POS/Payroll, Excel, Quickbooks, Resy, etc.).

What to Expect on the Job

Assist General Manager in overseeing day-to-day restaurant operations.

Exemplify good hospitality; guide and motivate our team in creating an exceptional guest experience.

Manage inventories (beverage, glassware, silverware, etc.) and strengthen relationships with suppliers.

Manage restaurant operations email.

Help manage weekly payroll.

Maintain a safe and healthy facility by following and enforcing Department of Health and other regulations and restaurant standards.

Work with leadership team to develop and implement effective FOH systems for Golden Diner, and help adapt these systems to new restaurant openings as needed.

Support setting up new food and beverage menus as well as sharing input on existing menu.

Collaborate regularly with leadership team to develop strategies to manage restaurant financials, including F&B and labor costs.
