Job Title: Bartender
Location: Mockingbird, Park Slope, Brooklyn, NY
Job Type: Hourly ($16/hr plus tips)
About Mockingbird: Mockingbird is an upscale zero-proof cocktail bar located in Park Slope, Brooklyn. We specialize in crafting creative, non-alcoholic cocktails and offer an extensive selection of non-alcoholic beers and wines. As an equal opportunity employer, we celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Bartender to enhance our team and support our lead bartender in daily operations. The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic about mixology, with a particular interest in non-alcoholic beverages. Prior experience in non-alcoholic mixology is preferred but not essential. This role is ideal for someone eager to learn and grow while working with cutting-edge techniques.
Mixing and serving cocktails to customer tastes is only one of a bartender’s many jobs within the bar. Ensuring the safety of staff and guests is the bartender’s number one priority, of course, but cultivating an upbeat and enjoyable environment is a close second. Bartenders can often be the only tether between people in the community looking for connection; this doesn’t change because our bar is zero-proof.
Acting as a resource for customers and cocktail servers both takes on extra significance in the context of a zero-proof bar, which most people are unfamiliar with. Balancing the educational aspects of this position while also preparing drinks is a tall ask, but Mockingbird bartenders rise to the occasion and are happy to answer any questions.
Responsibilities:
Craft and execute a high-caliber menu of non-alcoholic cocktails to Mockingbird’s standards.
Manage bar inventory and restocking as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized bar area.

Minimum Requirements:
1+ year of bartending experience.
Ability to stand for 6-7 hours per day and lift up to 50lbs.
Basic computer skills for managing inventory and processing orders.
Availability to work weekends and evenings.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with non-alcoholic beverages and knowledge of NA brands.
Beer and wine knowledge.
Willingness to undertake training in mixology techniques.
Previous completion of the DOHMH food protection course is a plus.
Benefits:
Competitive hourly wage plus tips.
Pre-tax commuter benefit.
(healthcare stipend)
Flexible hours.
