General Manager for Diner in Brooklyn

Kellogg’s, an iconic, 98-year-old 24-hour diner in Brooklyn, NY, is looking for enthusiastic, motivated and dedicated General Manager to join our team.

While this role does encompass the standard requirements and responsibilities that come with a General Manager role, it is important to note that at Kellogg’s, the General Manager will be expected to be more service-oriented and less focused on administrative duties.

Ideally, the person applying for this position has experience in openings of new restaurants and training all new staff.

Team Management & Leadership:

· Recruit, train, and supervise restaurant staff.

· Create and foster a positive work environment.

· Oversee daily operations to ensure smooth functioning of the restaurant.

· Monitor service standards, make changes as needed.

· Create FOH staff schedules.

· Ensure that all POS systems, inventory systems, beverage lists and any other information related to the beverage program remain accurate and up to date and are understood by the team.

· Work alongside the BOH management on a daily bases to ensure all food related information is accurate and communicated sufficiently to staff.

· Complete other duties as assigned by the director of operations.

· Develop and maintain a high standard of service.

· Address customer concerns and feedback promptly and professionally. Implement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction.

Financial Management and Compliance:

· Be prepared to discuss P+L’ s with management, as needed.

· Monitor sales and revenue targets, taking corrective actions as necessary,

· Optimize profitability through revenue generation strategies and cost control measures

· Ensure compliance with NYC health and safety

· Uphold cleanliness and sanitation protocols to maintain a safe environment.

· Adhere to all legal regulations and company policies.

Skills and Qualifications:

· Proven experience as a restaurant General Manager.

· Strong leadership and organizational abilities.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Understanding of restaurant management software and POS systems.

· Ability to work under pressure and resolve conflicts.

· Knowledge of financial management principles and procedures.

· Fluent in both written and spoken English.

· Ability to utilize traditional software programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), ADP, and any additional systems as needed; Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.

· Demonstrates positive leadership characteristics, which inspire team members to meet and exceed standards.

· Food Handler Certificate
