We are searching for a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our team as we prepare for our grand opening. Key Responsibilities:
Prepare a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes while ensuring top-notch quality and presentation.
Assist in developing and curating an innovative sushi menu, including seasonal specials.
Maintain high standards of food hygiene and cleanliness, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.
Oversee the freshness and quality of ingredients, particularly seafood, ensuring proper storage and handling.
Manage and train kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques, promoting teamwork and efficiency.
Collaborate with management on inventory control, ordering, and managing sushi bar supplies.
Help monitor food costs, reduce waste, and ensure profitability in a high-volume setting.
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience as a Sushi Chef in a high-volume kitchen, preferably in a waterfront or destination setting.
Expertise in traditional and modern sushi-making techniques.
Strong knife skills, with an emphasis on precision and efficiency.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high quality and attention to detail.
Leadership experience, with the ability to mentor and train junior staff.
Culinary degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
Valid food handler certification (required).
