White Plains law firm seeks a full-time associate with 3-6 years of litigation experience. Our practice areas include matters in the fields of real estate, construction and development, cannabis, partnership disputes, trademarks, administrative agency proceedings, Article 78 proceedings, as well as labor and employment disputes.
The ideal candidate will handle a varied caseload in federal and state court and have a working knowledge of the CPLR. Responsibilities include legal research, drafting pleadings, letters, briefs, affidavits, and settlement agreements, drafting and responding to discovery requests, conducting meet-and-confers, taking and defending depositions, participating in hearings, conferences, and oral arguments, participating in mediations and arbitrations, and preparing and trying cases.
The role is hybrid, and we can adjust remote vs. in-person time to fit the right candidate's needs. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. Although no book of business is required, the firm encourages its attorneys to develop a book of business, and offers origination fees to its attorneys. Additionally, benefits such as health care and 401(k) plans are available.
Qualifications (Required):
Admission to the New York State bar;
3+ years of litigation experience;
Working knowledge of the CPLR;
Strong research and writing skills; and
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Bonus points if you:
Have commercial litigation experience;
Are admitted to the New Jersey or Connecticut bars;
Have big law firm or sophisticated litigation experience; and/or
Have experience in cannabis-related matters.
