Newly launching luxury womenswear brand seeking part-time interns:
- 2nd or 3rd fashion students who are interested in getting hands-on knowledge in development, sampling, pre-production and manufacturing of luxury womenswear.
Some of the things you'll be working across and helping with support on include;
- Creating & updating BOMs, tech packs, spec sheets, cut tickets, etc.
- Sourcing + purchasing trims and materials in the Garment District
- Calculating fabric consumption + yield
- Helping with information management on pattern revisions and development fittings (keeping notes, taking photos, organizing + updating details into files)
- Organizing fabric swatches and cuttings, lab dips, reference materials, etc.
- Inventory management of trims, hardware, labels,
- Liaising with suppliers, vendors, sample rooms and makers on back & forth details with development, sampling, pre-production and manufacturing processes
You need to have some demonstrated experience in at least one key area of fashion, a genuine interest in and affinity for luxury garments, strong computer skills, a positive 'can do' attitude and be resourceful in your creative problem solving. This is a great opportunity to be 'on the tools' with a small, talented but highly experienced team building a NYC-based luxury fashion brand from the very beginning.
- PR/Marketing student interested in Fashion/Luxury/Culture to support with;
- Social media art direction, content planning and posting
- Updating and managing database of stylists, editors, writers, etc.
- Conceptualizing and planning content shoots
- Guestlist support for brand activation activities
- Hands on help with shoots, collection showings and presentations
- Helping with managing & optimizing content from custom celebrity looks, VIP dressing, etc.
- Sending out samples for media requests / loans, coordinating returns / drycleaning, steaming, etc.
- Organize and track showroom samples
Karla Otto in London handles the main PR for the brand/debut collection, so you would be liaising directly with them on certain aspects of the work.
Our office is located in NYC's buzziest hotspot for creatives - the WSA Building at 161 WATER ST.
This is a PAID internship opportunity: $15 per hour / $125 day / $250 week. Metro travel for work + lunch provided.
Successful candidates need to have availability of 2 days per week (eg: 15-20hrs).
