Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Building Superintendent to manage the day-to-day operations of a residential building in Forest Hills, NY. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance, repairs, and tenant relations. Responsibilities include overseeing building systems, responding to tenant needs, and ensuring the building complies with safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
Perform regular maintenance and repairs on plumbing, electrical, boiler, and other systems.
Ensure the building is clean and well-maintained, addressing any issues as they arise.
Handle tenant complaints and requests in a professional and timely manner.
Coordinate with external contractors for major repairs and maintenance projects.
Manage the building’s security systems and ensure compliance with local safety regulations.
Oversee energy efficiency efforts and help manage utility usage.
Respond to emergency situations as needed, including being on-call during off-hours.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a superintendent or similar role in building management.
Strong knowledge of building systems and general maintenance practices.
Ability to perform basic repairs in plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks at once.
Ability to lift 50lbs or more and to stand for long periods of time.
