University of Rochester: Office of the Provost: Academic Center: Eastman School of MusicSalary Range or Pay Grade$80,000 - $140,000DescriptionThe Eastman School of Music of the University of Rochester invites applications for a three-year-renewable, full-time faculty appointment in Music and Technology (non-tenure-eligable), beginning 1 July 2025.Responsibilities include:

Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in music technology, including but not limited to digital audio production, electronic music composition, sound design, and interactive media.

Work with faculty and administration at the University to design, develop, and launch new degree programs.

Establish and maintain connections to industry

Develop and maintain an active research and creative agenda in the field of music and technology.

Collaborate with faculty across disciplines to enhance the integration of technology in music education and performance.

Participate in service activities at the departmental, school, and university levels.

In compliance with the NY Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $80,000 - $140,000. The University of Rochester considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, and internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.Qualifications

A terminal degree (PhD, DMA, or equivalent) in music technology, composition, or a related field.

A distinguished record of teaching, research, and creative work in music.

Demonstrated expertise in areas such as digital audio production, electronic music, sound design, and interactive media.

Experience with current trends in the music technology industry, including best practices in product design and user research

Experience in program development and implementation is highly desirable
