Manager, Maintenance, North America Operations · Rochester, New York Department Operations Employment Type Full-Time Minimum Experience Senior Manager/Supervisor Maintenance Manager, North American Job Summary: Reporting to the Vice President, Spoke Operations, the Maintenance Manager North America for Li-Cycle’s North American Spoke Operations will be responsible for the strategic direction and leadership of all administrative, maintenance and reliability operations, including staff and service administration. The incumbent must effectively and efficiently manage the development and direction of the operational team to drive the growth of revenue and technical productivity. He/she must ensure that all departments under his/her control are compliant with all applicable legislation, including but not limited to Occupational Health and Safety and State Electrical Safety Regulations. Primary Responsibilities: Develop Li-Cycle’s Maintenance Policy and work practices for the facilities and ensures that maintenance activities align with this policy
Develops and implements maintenance and asset management systems to plan, organize and implement maintenance projects and preventive maintenance for the facilities
Prepares the preventive maintenance schedules
Establishes mid- and long-term maintenance strategies for the facility based on maintenance priorities and equipment availability
Develops and forecasts the plant maintenance budgets which integrate recommendations for optimal allocation of resources (staff, budget, material, etc.)
Manages and controls maintenance expenses based on the operating budget.
Maintains maintenance KPIs
Provides reports regarding equipment repair costs, preventive maintenance program, maintenance costs, etc.
Analyzes this system and proposes appropriate adjustments when required
Balances maintenance schedules appropriately with Operations needs
Works with his/her team as well as with multifunctional teams to continuously improve the work process
Proposes modifications to equipment and procedures to improve efficiency and safety of equipment
Actively promotes Li-Cycle safety, environmental and quality objectives
Adheres to Work Permit, Lock out Tag out and Management of Change (MOC) procedures.
Perform other duties as required
Job Qualifications:
Post-Secondary diploma or degree in the mechanical or electrical field
8+ years previous management experience in a technical environment with proven leadership abilities
Minimum ten years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing facility
Knowledge of regulatory codes (building, ISO, safety, fire, CFIA, electrical, TSSA, etc.)
Familiarity with manufacturing equipment, such as pumps, air compressors, screw conveyors
Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on operations and business processes
Holds a clear and solid understanding of personnel policies, practices, and procedures and other operational issues faced by the organization
Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
Maintains a high level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability
