Responsibilities include planning, organizing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of fulfillment of disposable supply throughout the OR. As well as Case Cart preparation of surgical instruments and disposable supplies using inventory management and EMR system to maintain an accurate database of information. Serve as a key contact and resource for Operating Room staff's questions and concerns regarding supplies and case carts. Ensures adherence to DNV and State Board of Health regulations. Monitors daily responsibilities of OR material team and assigned staff.STATUS: FULL TIME LOCATION: ROCHESTER GENERAL HOSPITAL DEPARTMENT: MATERIAL MANAGEMENTSCHEDULE: DAYS 7A-330PATTRIBUTESTwo (2) years of material handling, operating room or applicable experience.Basic computer skillsDemonstrate understanding of aseptic techniqueCritical thinking skillsRESPONSIBILITIES Organizes and coordinates the day-to-day operations of case cart preparation and maintenance of surgical instruments and supplies by: Ensuring operational compliance with legal, regulatory and institutional requirements by following the procedures and standards of quality for storage and distribution of surgical instruments and supplies. Usage of Critical thinking to resolve workflow issues and troubleshoot problems that are presented in daily responsibilities. Review and evaluate, on an ongoing basis, the flow of work through the SPC Marketplace; identifying areas where operational efficiencies need improvement. Assisting with maintaining an effective inventory control system for tracking instruments and supplies Maintains and enforces sterility policy and practice within the sub sterile areas Communicating inventory supplies that are delayed to team members and other departments as required Communicate with end-user departments to review product additions and deletions and assisting in the transition process of product conversion. Reviewing the quality and quantity of the work performed by OR Material team; providing input to the Manager for areas of improvement. Communicating with the Manager regarding any concerns or problems reported by the staff. Interpreting and instructing on Hospital and department policies, procedures, and protocols. Maintaining open communications with the Operating Room (O.R.) staff Assisting in the implementation and evaluation of a Quality Assurance program; also involving team members in the same. Support daily workload of assigned staff including training staff on how to perform new tasks. Maintains knowledge, skills and competence in areas of responsibility. Performing the functions of an OR Material Tech as needed. Perform other tasks as assigned.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: H - Heavy Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Requires constant walking, standing or squatting.PAY RANGE: $19.50 - $22.50The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Successfully passed a nationally accredited central service exam and holds and maintains one of the following credentials: Certified Registered Central Service Technician credential Certified Sterile Processing & Distribution Technician credential-OR- Hard to Fill Clause: A health care facility may employ or otherwise contract with a person who does not meet the requirements of the function of a Sterile Processing Technician, Sr. if they are unable to employ or contract a sufficient number of qualified Sterile Processing Technicians-OR- Grand-fathering Clause: Must provide evidence of employment or contract services as a Central Service Technician in a health care facility for a cumulative period of one year, occurring between 1/1/2011 - 1/1/2015.Required Licensure/Certification Skills: Central Service Technician certification required within 18 months of hire if does not meet grand-fathering requirements. Sterile Processing certification required within 18 months after employment if Hard to Fill clause is utilized.RESPONSIBILITIES
