Summary: In collaboration with a team of technicians, inspectors and engineers, this person will ensure the quality control of mechanical and electro-mechanical material. This role will include manual inspection, CMM programming directly from CAD, material disposition, and supplier engagement. Success in this position requires the development of strong partnerships with internal and external personnel, and the continuing development of a world class quality system. Principal Accountabilities :

Inspects parts and assemblies using benchtop metrology methods.

Verification of high risk material from new suppliers, first time deliveries, engineering change rework, or material with questionable reliability and quality.

Employs hand gauging techniques for mechanical verification, including visual inspection of mechanical, electrical, and electro-mechanical material using standard techniques.

This person will learn to generate CMM programs directly from CAD, to verify materials and components.

Participate in MRB disposition activities such as verifying and dispositioning nonconforming material to ensure part integrity.

Collects, enters, and manipulates quality related data using spreadsheets and databases.

Participates in data analysis, as well as effective cross-functional problem solving.

Uses ANSI GD&T methodologies in reading and interpreting print requirements.

May use electrical test equipment to verify electrical and electro-mechanical material quality.

Performs other job-related duties as required.

Minimum Requirements:

High School Diploma with 0-1 years of related experience is required.

Associate's Degree in a relative technical discipline is preferred.

PC-DMIS programming and CMM operating experience is preferred, with strong aptitude to learn via training.

Some experience with CAD geometry preferred.

Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) is helpful.

Good communication skills within a cross-functional setting.

Physical Demands:

Requires the ability to use a computer on a frequent basis.

Ability to occasionally lift material weighing up to 40lbs.

The ability to travel to customer or supplier sites or technical conferences may occasionally be required.
