Surgical procedures vary, but most commonly include craniotomies, spinal fusions and laminectomies, prostatectomies, and surgeries of the kidneys and bladder; in addition to laryngectomies and tracheotomies, gastric sleeves and bypasses.STATUS: Part Time (24 hours) LOCATION: Rochester General Hospital DEPARTMENT: Acute Surgical Unit (5400)SCHEDULE: Day/Night, every other weekend, every other holidayATTRIBUTES:Compassionate, warm and patient focusedCritical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervisionExceptional documentation skills and professional behaviorAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentRESPONSIBILITIES:Patient Satisfaction. Administer medication and give/receive relevant reports, both written and verbalDocumentation. Ensure concise, pertinent and complete patient care documentation using computerized medical record processEDUCATION: AS: Nursing (Required)PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA)RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)PAY RANGE: $37.18 - $49.92The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future.
