Resettlement Operations CoordinatorJob DetailsJob Location87 North Clinton Ave - Rochester, NYPosition TypeFull TimeEducation LevelBachelors DegreeSalary Range$21.25 - $21.25 HourlyJob ShiftDayJob CategoryFamily ServicesDescriptionUnder the direction of the Reception and Placement Program Manager, the Resettlement Operations Coordinator supports the work of the Refugee, Immigration, and Employment Services Department as a critical resettlement team member by working to support the team in meeting its Reception and Placement mandates. The main functions (but not limited to these responsibilities) of the position are: in collaboration with the Volunteer Coordinator schedule and facilitate Cultural Orientation classes, individual sessions, as well as small group extended cultural orientation, coordinate and schedule the Saint’s Place Clothing Closet, maintain the schedule for the Outreach/ Transportation Specialist and Case Aide staff, maintain schedule for the agency vans, work with the R&P Coordinator on coordinating health screenings and ongoing medical appointments, assist with the verification of cases and inputting information into the Department database.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Schedules and delivers required Cultural Orientation topics and objectives as identified by the funder and defined in the Program Cooperative Agreement as well as regionally important and relevant topics.
Establishes a Cultural Orientation schedule and communicates the schedule to the Case Managers and transportation staff. Schedules transportation staff to ensure clients get to and from Cultural Orientation.
Arranges for appropriate interpretation to be provided at each Cultural Orientation session and prepares an interpreter prior to each session by identifying key messages that must be communicated and understood by Cultural Orientation session participants.
Conducts evaluation checking for refugee understanding and skill development and provides the refugee evaluation to the case manager for follow up and to collaborate on additional skill development.
Updates the Cultural Orientation curriculum to ensure all required compliance needs are met, ensuring relevance to the current population of new refugee arrivals.
Ensures that Cultural Orientation is provided prior to the completion of the R&P period for all adult case members.
Works with the Volunteer Coordinator to establish a volunteer led small group that provides population and topic specific extended cultural orientation sessions.
Coordinates and maintains the scheduling of clients’ appointments to:
Saint’s Place Clothing Closet appointments
Works with the Volunteer Coordinator to schedule volunteers and when necessary, schedule transportation staff to transport clients.
Assist the R&P Coordinator with scheduling and transporting clients to and from their initial health assessments as well as communicating on- going appointments to Case Managers and Case Aides.
Ensure the agency vans are available for the Saints Place Clothing Closet and medical appointments.
Ensures the van usage log is accurately maintained and enforces timely completion of van inspections.
Assist the R&P Coordinator with the verification of cases and inputting the information into the agency database.
Is aware of and supports the agency’s mission, vision, and strategic plan.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
