Works cooperatively with department/division leadership and multidisciplinary teams, supervisors, administrators, physicians, and personnel throughout Mayo and outside individuals/institutions. Maintains an effective working relationship with a variety of individuals throughout the institution and may have contact with persons outside Mayo as job duties dictate.Serves as a key member of the leadership team with focuses on management of allied health staff, budgeting, and implementation of policies and systems. Manages projects and serves as a primary resource for issues and communications. Performs duties independently and initiates judgment in handling a variety of management issues. Experience in research environment preferred. Strong leadership, team building, and problem-solving skills as well as demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multiple disciplines, i.e., physician, administrative, supervisory, and allied health staff.Oversees projects within the laboratory and assumes significant responsibility for the day-to-day operation of lab activities, including the design of research studies and experiments. Monitors results, responds to unusual outcomes; develops and implements modifications. Collects, enters analyzes, and interprets data. Possesses advanced knowledge of lab practices and directs and teaches others in lab practices. Provides leadership for lab operations and staff. Serves as a mentor to lab staff. Authors and co-authors publications. Presents at National Meetings.QualificationsRequires bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or other relevant science with 4 years of research laboratory experience. Master's degree in biology, chemistry, or other relevant science preferred.Note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
