Job Title: Electrical / RF Test Automation Engineer Job Code: 16585 Job Location: Rochester, NY Job Schedule: 9/80 Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and have every other Friday off Job Description: Responsibilities include designing, developing, testing and sustaining of automated functional test systems that are sold to DoD and international defense customers. The candidate’s primary function will be radio test system development with a heavy emphasis on writing software applications in NI LabVIEW. Essential Functions:
Design, develop, and debug software applications for control/automation of test and measurement equipment using NI LabVIEW.
Continuous improvement of measurement algorithms, techniques and reporting to improve quality and reduce overal cost.
Consult with electrical engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate measurement techniques.
Participate in the development of new software architectures designed to maximize reuse, reduce development costs, and improve software quality.
Port existing test applications to new platforms.
Support existing orders and support proposals as we continue to grow our test solutions business.
Occasionally support the installation and commissioning of test systems at customer facilities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Proficiency with Object-Oriented Programming and Design (OOP/OOD)
Familiarity with software management tools (e.g. SVN/GIT, JIRA)
RF and baseband test and measurement experience. Familiarity with test equipment such as: Spectrum & Network analyzers, Power Meters, DMMs, Oscilloscopes, Audio analyzers
Networking and Radio communication system experience
NI LabVIEW & TestStand experience
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Vermont, Washington State and New York State is $74,000 - $138,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
